As part of a global contract between General Motors and Höegh Autoliners which includes transportation from Thailand to Chile, MV Höegh Shanghai successfully loaded the first shipment containing a total of 229 vehicles in Laemchabang, Thailand on 16th January 2010.

The event was not only a first shipment for GM to Chile, but also the first port call in Thailand in almost a decade for Höegh Autoliners.

In addition to the South America volumes for GM, Höegh Autoliners is also in the process of executing the first of regular shipments for South Africa on behalf of Ford Motor Company. With these two contracts in place, Höegh Autoliners has reached yet another milestone by establishing regular services in and out of Thailand and South East Asia.
