The GEFCO Transport hub, located at the Corby RDC, will remain as the co-ordination centre for all vehicle distribution to and from GEFCO's three main sites at Sheerness, Sandtoft and Corby, assisting with national distribution to dealers, fleet operators and rental companies.

The new fleet of transporters will benefit GEFCO's new and existing customers by optimising delivery to and from dealers, with the ability to transport different vehicle types on the same transporter. The vehicles are also more environmentally friendly, using the latest Ad-Blue fuel, which reduces emissions from the exhausts of diesel vehicles.

These new vehicles can carry up to ten cars; increasing GEFCO's carrying capabilities and providing an improved load configuration for transporting commercial vans and mixed loads, compared with older transporters that can only accommodate up to eight vehicles. All the transporters are fitted with state-of-the-art tracking devices, to allow constant route visibility and versatility.

Throughout 2009, GEFCO Transport will continue to make improvements to the rest of their fleet of vehicles by replacing a number of their remaining transporters with purpose built car/van transporters.
