The shipping line NYK awarded BLG´s auto terminals in Bremerhaven and Gioia Tauro the “Certificate of Achievement”. In 2006 NYK-Line had founded its “Safe Cargo Work Promotion Committee”, in order to achieve continuous improvement of the quality regarding handling processes in the ports.

In regular meetings of BLG and NYK measures were developed and quality targets fixed. The targets mainly apply the reduction of transport damages on vehicles and further development in the handling of vehicles as well as high & heavy cargo on NYK´s vessels. The suggestions of BLG´s supervisors, team leaders, and employees evoked clear improvements.

The operation processes in Bremerhaven and Gioia Tauro are identical. Due to this both terminals were awarded with the certificate. Now NYK-Line wants to transfer the measures developed in Bremerhaven to all terminals being called by NYK´s auto carriers.
